Immanuel Lutheran Church has been a fixture of Hood River, Oregon, for nearly 120 years. In that time, many wonderful pastors have served this community with a love of Jesus and an appreciation for this beautiful town, nestled in between the mountains and the Columbia River. Pastor Tyler Moore was installed as sole pastor in October 2023, bringing an enthusiasm for sharing the Gospel grounded in easily understandable, relatable messages. He is passionate about connecting with people, especially those who don't yet know the hope and peace of Christ.

Pastor Tyler graduated from Concordia University in Irvine, California, with a degree in theology and earned his master's degree in divinity from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri, in 2012. A fifth-generation Floridian, he previously served as a pastor in Florida and Texas before accepting the call to Immanuel Hood River. 

While serving in Tampa Bay, Pastor Tyler received international media attention when his humorous church signs, containing puns supporting the local hockey team, Tampa Bay Lightning, landed him being featured on media outlets such as Yahoo Sports, The Washington Post, The Chicago Tribune, The Toronto Star, Fox Sports, Hockey Night in Canada, and numerous others. This connection forged many positive relationships between local reporters, the team and its families, Hockey Ministries International, and the entire Tampa Bay Lightning organization, giving Pastor Tyler a chance to share the joy of Jesus with millions of people all over the world. 

He loves to support his church body's district and national efforts, previously serving as a circuit visitor for the district and speaking at multiple National Youth Gatherings for the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. Over the years, he has enjoyed volunteering with homeless ministries, special needs programs for children, and youth ministry.

He and his wife, Cassie, have two dogs and spend as much time as possible outdoors, enjoying kayaking, hiking, and traveling. In his free time, Pastor Tyler loves to cook, watch hockey, dabble in woodworking, and walk his dogs in downtown Hood River.
